Using maneuvering vanes and jets to travel through a course, these modified airspeeders were very similar to podracers, with repulsors only being used to hover above ground.
Another similarity was that each pilot had to concentrate more on operating and controlling the individual jets and engines, thus concentrating less on the actual racecourse.
